Oh what a lovely Venus Day indeed! Did you know that each day of the week is associated with a particular planet, and Friday is Venus’s day! I love it when we have Venus transits on a Friday. Goddess Venus knows when she is most powerful!

Venus is the planet that rules love, pleasure, value, and beauty. It can speak to the type of relationship we attract, how we behave in that relationship, and what we need from that relationship to feel valued and whole. Venus shows what we love, who we love, and how we love! It can also indicate our taste in music, our aesthetic, and our relationship with money. Where we have Venus in our chart can tell us a lot about our relationship with others and ourselves, and where Venus is transiting in the sky can shed some light on how we collectively approach things in the Venusian realm.

Venus in Cancer is like fresh baked sweets, a hug from your favorite grandma, or a flip through a picture book that brings comfort and a tender sense of nostalgia. With Venus moving through Cancer, there is sweetness and care. We may experience a heightened need for security (both material and emotional) during this time but also may find it easier to embody a care-taking energy for others, and a tug to meet others needs. Venus in Cancer values tradition, the home, and all things nostalgic. A fondness of the past may linger during this transit, and it is a great time to reconnect with the things that you did as a youngin’ that brought you comfort and joy. Perhaps it’s re-watching your favorite childhood movie or re-reading your favorite childhood book. Maybe it’s asking your grandparents to tell the story of how they met. Maybe it’s buying that treat at the grocery store that you used to indulge in but refrain now as you’ve matured. Or visiting a town or establishment you hold fond memories at (while wearing your damn mask, of course)! It could be as simple as using a lotion or perfume/cologne that you, an old friend, or a family member used...as many of us know that even a simple scent can bring back a flood of memories (for me it’s the Aussie brand hairspray!). Whatever it is that connects you with your memories, Venus’s transit in Cancer supports this rediscovery.

And all the while, Venus in Cancer values emotional security. We will want to feel close to the ones we love on a deeper level and find a sense of “home” within them. Venus in Cancer is an optimal transit for holding space for a loved one when they need comfort. It is a time of greater connection and feeling like you have solace and stability within love and intimate relationships. There is a need for vulnerability, here, and this is a great transit for stepping into the willingness to go there with people you trust.

This is also a perfect time to spruce up your sacred space. Cancer is associated with the home, and doing some redecorating or making your space feel more comfortable and welcoming is very fitting with this transit! Cancer is the “Crab” and just like a crab has a hard exterior and a soft interior, this idea is mimicked in the concept of a home. The structure of our house provides a hard exterior of protection, but the inside is soft and comfortable. What are some ways you can make your home feel more aligned with what makes you feel safe, comfortable, and secure?

Astrologically, we have had some gnarly transits through the Cardinal signs this year (the outer planet pile up in Capricorn, Mars in Aries, and Cancer season transits of the Sun + Mercury forming difficult aspects to all of the aforementioned). While Venus will also form these aspects, Venus will attempt to deliver soothing ointment for the wounds that we endured and at the very least, provide some comfort and a feeling of togetherness. Cancer is associated with family and this is a great time to connect/reconnect with your given or your chosen family.

Blessings to you
