Taurus Season

As of 9:45am (CDT) on April 19th, 2020, our sun has entered the fixed and earthy sign of Taurus for the next 30 days. Taurus is ruled by Venus and represents Venusian qualities like values, comfort, the exquisite, finer things in life, sensuality, and abundance. I like to think of Taurus as exuding “Mother Earth” energy. We have Earth Day vibes, 4/20 vibes, and the budding of Spring to represent this time in the zodiac year. I see colors of ivy greens to represent growth and abundance, and light pink to represent love and values. But there is much more to Taurus. Let’s take a closer look.

Taurus ♉︎ “The Bull” ♉︎

April 19 - May 19

(on leap-day years. 4/20-5/20 on non-leap-day years)

Element (Triplicity): Earth

Modality (Quadtriplicity):  Fixed

Ruling Planet: Venus

Polarity: Scorpio

Ruling Body Part: Neck & Throat

Tarot Card: The Hierophant (and sometimes The Empress = Venus); the suit of Pentacles (I see IV of Pentacles, IX of Pentacles, and Queen of Pentacles the most).

As the sun transits earth mother Taurus, it is a chance to connect with the earthly things we know and possess. We can become one with nature; incorporate fresh flowers into your home or go outside and read a book or breathe in the fresh air under your favorite tree. Walk barefoot, or pick up trash around your neighborhood.

We can take a better look at our finances and budget; are you overspending and living outside of your means? Are you a stingy scrooge that could stand to be a little more generous? Or are you wise with your money, and make smart decisions in the acquisition and investment of your finances?

We can look at the value we place on ourselves; what does your self-worth look like? Do you know your strengths and are proud of who you are and what you stand for? Are you in alignment with your core values and do you make decisions that honor these values? Taurus is an archetype that is rooted in knowing its personal value, and takes delight in sharing their strengths and talents with others.

Taurus season is a time to look at where you could be more stable and accountable. Where do you lack consistency? How often do you not follow through with your word? (The Taurus archetype talks the talk and walks the walk!). One of the best things about Taurus energy is that it is reliable and predictable. Partly because of Taurus’s dislike for change (fixed energy), and partly because of the Taurus Archetype’s emphasis on being a source of value - Taurus likes to feel needed and put to use!

The Taurus archetype will encourage you to indulge in things that trigger your five senses. Taurus loves good food, nice smells, fine wine, fresh sheets, hot baths, sensual massages, music that moves them, and a home that allows them to relax and enjoy the fruits of their labor. Taurus will work tirelessly to ensure that they will be continually comfortable later.

Taurus is a calming force in a storm. It is so deeply rooted that it is unshakable in a time of chaos and unbothered when everyone else is frazzled. Taurus is one of the most stable signs and provides the foundations and structures for many successful entities because of its ability to show up, time and time again.

More Taurus goodness - like working with our value system - to come. Stay tuned for this in my New Moon in Taurus post on Wednesday, April 22.
